School Profile
Opening in 1957, the school includes prekindergarten
through grade 5. After completing the elementary years at Glenmar,
our students attend Middle River Middle School or
Parkville Middle Magnet School.
Community:
Glenmar Elementary is situated in the Middle River area of Baltimore County.
The campus is surrounded by the new “Miramar Landing” housing development
consisting of town homes, single homes and a senior housing facility.
Special Programs:
Glenmar supports and executes the Baltimore
County Public School’s Curriculum (http://www.bcps.org/offices/humanities/)
in prekindergarten (two-half day sessions), full-day kindergarten
and grades 1 to 5.
Gifted and Talented Programs are available to qualified third, fourth, and fifth
grade students in reading and math. Glenmar provides inclusive and adaptive programs
for students with special learning needs. The school receives federally funded
Title 1 funds that supplements the school’s curriculum and instruction.

for all students, one that develops the content knowledge, skills,
and attitudes that will enable them to reach their maximum potential
as responsible, productive citizens and life-long learners.

SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT GOALS
Glenmar’s
goals are to increase reading, writing and academic achievement
of all students.
Long Range Goals:
Goal 1: By 2007, 100% of all students in the third
and fifth grades at Glenmar will score at or above the satisfactory
standard for reading on the MSA.
Goal 2: By 2007, 100% of all students in the third
and fifth grade at Glenmar will score at or above the satisfactory
standard for mathematics on the MSA.
