Hello there...still learning how to post the news....check the photo gallery for pictures.......
Art News for April:
Congrats to all Glenmar students! The hallways are filled with student art work and the school has been transformed into an art museum. The American theme this year was to show that art is more than a pretty picture. Students solved similar problems of some our great American artists in order to entertain, teach, and help other people see things differently. The art show open house was a success and it was fun to see so many families enjoying the atmosphere of great art throughout the building. Thank you for supporting the arts.
Congrats to fifth grade student, Cole Nehus and third grade student, Rocel Enricoso! Their art will represent Glenmar at the Baltimore Museum of Art this spring for the BCPS event….Art is For Everyone!
Also congrats to fifth grade student, Akeire Alston! Her dog portrait will represent Glenmar in one of our public political shows this spring.
Amariah Patterson’s self portrait is representing Glenmar at the State of Schools luncheon…way to go Amariah!
Please know that learning and art making do not stop until the last day of school. Please supply your child with an old shirt to cover their clothes or an art smock.
Some art will be coming home shortly. Some of the work will be sketches and some work will be final assignments. Please consider finding an area to proudly display their finished assignments. Art appreciation is a huge piece of creating a 21st century learner.
And lastly….please collect your box tops for kids and send them into school. This semester the money raised will fund some news tools for the art room. The class with the most box tops will get an outside lunch time.
Thanks again for supporting art…it matters!
