Principal's Message

Thank you to everyone who completed the BCPS Stakeholder Survey.  The  results will be utilized to help improve our school.  It is so hard to believe that PARCC testing is right around the corner for our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade scholars!  We recently completed our spring MAP testing.  Our scholars have exceeded our Math MAP growth goal for the year.  The goal was 70% and our scholars scored 73%.  We did not meet our Reading MAP growth goal set at 70%.   However, our scholars did a great job and scored 66%.  In order to become a better reader, scholars must read every night. Reading for at least 30 minutes can help improve fluency.  We have several online resources such as: iReady, Raz Kids, Reading A-Z, etc. through BCPSONE to help scholars improve in reading.  All of our scholars are familiar with logging onto these websites.

Please speak with your child about the consequences for bringing items to school that can cause harm and are prohibited.  Bringing such items  to school may result in suspension, assignment to an alternative program or expulsion (Board of Education Policy, 5550, Disruptive Behavior).  These items include: Possession and/or use of a firearm on school property (one-year expulsion), Possession or use of a real weapon of any kind, use of a look-alike gun or rifle, use of a look-alike weapon of any kind, and use of a pocketknife or any object as a weapon.  Our job is to keep your child safe and your child’s job is to help us keep them safe.  Continue to encourage your scholar to follow our Code of Conduct and safety procedures that are in place. It is also extremely  important for our scholar to take all emergency drills seriously and follow the directions given by the teachers.

Educationally yours,

Dr. Tedeschi
